This project has been postponed

b&l-32I’ve decided that I’m going to postpone the completion of this project. I wanted to complete it by today, but there’s no possible way to do that and still be happy with the results. I decided it was much better for me to relax, take my time, and enjoy the process. So, the quilt will go on the design wall for a while, and I’ll come back to it fresh in a few days. I have a commitment next week, so it won’t be done in time for the Houston deadline for this year, but there will be other shows and other years.

  1. As hard as it is, I’m glad you are stepping back so you can truly enjoy the process and not push yourself for the show deadline. Making these creations and enjoying the process is more important (to me) than cranking them out to fit a time line. All things happen for a reason and it sounds like God wants you to slow down and wait.

Better that you be satisfied than just finishing it if it does not “feel” right…let’s see, the Miami Valley Quilt Guild show would give you until May 2014…

    1. I might be able to make that deadline!

  3. I have come to this….and few other realizations…I will make quilts for myself….on the time schedule that they deserve…..and if I miss a deadline, so what. Better that the work be my best and I be happy with it. Better that the theme be MINE and the size fit the design requirements, rather than the arbitrary requirements of a show.
