It’s a blustery day

Today is a blustery day. Weather.com said winds were up to 35 mph, although I heard up to 50 mph on the news. When we went on our hour-long walk this morning, there were no other walkers on the path. I wanted to go to Ikea today, but decided to postpone it. DH was all for it, but I don’t particularly like the idea of driving for nearly an hour each way during a tornado watch.

So now I’m in the studio. I probably should get something done, so I decided to visit the green and yellow corner of my fabric stash. I never had very many of these colors until a few years ago. In 2007, DD#2 got married and she used yellow as one of her main colors. That gave me an excuse to buy a plethora of yellow fabrics so we could line the baskets that were used on buffet line as well as other places. About the same time I started collecting greens so I could make the hillsides for “Captivated.”

Anyway, I have an idea. I really didn’t like the hand-dyed version of Embrace that I was playing with last week. I intentionally was picking the colors randomly, but it didn’t work at all for this design. Now I’m going to rework it into more of an analogous color scheme.

To give you an idea of how strong the winds are, this is one of the three little peach trees that we planted this year. Good thing small trees are very flexible! In this picture, you can see the door to my studio on the left.
