The girls came home from college at just the right time to be involved in all the fun. Along with a crew of volunteers from the church, the girls spent hours cleaning and painting, fixing and remodeling. DH & I were both working full-time jobs outside the home, the girls, along with some of their friends, packed up the old house so guys from the church could move everything over to the new home. It was quite a feat to accomplish in just a few short months.
Their ornaments for the year are paint brushes dipped in paint that was used in the master bathroom. There is a blue glass tile that was leftover from the kitchen backsplash project. There’s also a small Chronicles of Narnia pendant. That was a special book series that we read as a family several times during their youth, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe movie came out that Christmas. (Although, DD#1 was sorely disappointed that the movie did not follow the book more closely, but that’s another subject!)
