Today the new Quilting Arts Magazine arrived in my mailbox. Inside is my article on how to photograph your own quilts in your own home with ordinary equipment.
I believe photography is an important part of quiltmaking. It is helpful during the quiltmaking process so you can audition various options, for instance. But I always tell people that a quilt isn’t done until it is labeled and photographed. I became convinced of this because I maintain the Lost Quilt Come Home website which displays lost and stolen quilts. For more than half of those quilts, the owner/maker does not have a photograph.
I have two copies of this magazine to give away! If you leave a comment below, I will draw a random number at 9 PM EST tomorrow, September 27.
