Shopping for fabric: Fat Quarter Shop

Fat Quarter ShopAre you interested in one more place to shop? I often enjoy a little online perusing at the Fat Quarter Shop. As the name implies, they carry loads of fat quarters, often in bundles of coordinating fabrics. That’s a great way to build a stash, especially if you’re a little unsure of matching fabrics. But they don’t stop there. You can buy bundles in half yard or full yard cuts. They also have several other precut options, or you can buy your favorites by the yard.

Fat Quarter ShopThe website gives several options for finding the fabric you want: by collection or designer, by manufacturer, by theme, or by color. Personally, I don’t pay much attention to manufacturer or collections, so those options are the least useful to me. I almost always search for fabric by color. In that department, they surely don’t disappoint! They give a wide range of color options that you can click on to see all the fabrics with that particular color.

The last time I ordered from them, my order came in a Priority Mail cardboard envelope. Inside, my fabrics were neatly arrayed in a ziplock bag. I always appreciate that extra bit of care.

Cast-offs from my secret projectAnd now a shot of the corner of my studio. I’ve been working on a project that I have to keep secret. I don’t particularly like that because I find it motivating to blog about each step of my current project, but it can’t be helped. I am happy that I am in the final stages! I’m heading back to my studio now to try to pull all my pieces together. I want to have this complete by next week.
