One of the women in our quilt guild had connections with the builder that was chosen for this project. As a result, the Miami Valley Quilters’ Guild volunteered to make a quilt for each member of the family, and I offered to make a portrait quilt for James and Shannon. Nearly 40 quilters worked together to make seven quilts in just five days.
