Iridescent blue sandals

Preparing the shoesI’m so tired of my boring brown Birkenstocks. I bought them in 2007, so I was ready for something new, but these are still in pretty good condition and I wasn’t too fond of the blue ones that are currently available. (Yes, of course they need to be blue!)

I remember reading somewhere that Shiva Paintstiks could be used on leather. Since my Birkenstocks don’t have a shiny surface, I decided to give it a try. I pulled out some blue masking tape, my beautiful Iridescent Dark Blue Shiva Paintstik, and a stiff-bristled brush. In less than an hour, I had the first layer complete. As much as possible, I applied the Paintstik directly, and then I used the brush to smooth it out. The brush was also handy for getting into all those hard-to-reach areas.

The next day, I put on a second layer. Are these awesome or what?

"New" blue shoes

Another couple days to give them a really good chance to dry completely. I can’t wait to wear them!!!

Can't wait to wear these!
