I’ve mentioned before that my two quilts, Windblown and Surrender, are part of a special SAQA exhibit which includes twenty of the featured artists in the Art Quilt Portfolio: People and Portraits book. The first place these quilts were shown was at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas. Special exhibits of this kind normally do not allow photography, but because I have two quilts in it, the curator of the exhibit, Pat Kumicich, sent us photographs and gave us permission for us to include them on our blogs.
I was so excited to see these photos since I didn’t get to attend the Houston show this year. It’s always nice to see how the quilts are hung. I’ve heard the entire exhibit was very well received, too.
Here are a few of the quilts from the exhibit so you can get a taste of it, too.
Be sure to go to the SAQA website to see larger images and to get more information on each quilt.
