Yesterday our church had a craft day where a bunch of the ladies and older girls brought whatever craft they wanted to work on, and we all had fun talking and snacking, and even did some of our crafts! It was a really nice time, and very productive, too.
I hauled my Janome over to the church and did some sewing with my two daughters and Hazel. An organization called United Through Pregnancy Loss invited DD#2’s non-profit, Purposeful Gift, to participate in a week-long fundraising campaign where they would share the proceeds. We decided to sew a bunch of coffee cozies and camera strap covers to donate to the cause.
I dug through my tub full of pieced scraps leftover from various Nancy Crow workshops and we used those to create our coffee cozies and straps. I even found some Insul-Bright batting while I was cleaning my studio last week, so we used that in the coffee cozies. DD#1 raided her button collection and donated some really interesting buttons to complete the coffee cozies. Above are the six coffee cozies that will be part of this week’s fundraiser. Some of them with larger blank areas can be personalized with names or short phrases.
Here are the three camera strap covers that will be offered. I love the black and white one, but I think they all turned out so well that we will probably do it again. I certainly have enough scraps to use up!
If you are interested in bidding on any of the coffee cozies or the camera strap covers, head on over to the February Fundraiser Auction album for United Through Pregnancy Loss. Payments are made through PayPal. Shipping costs indicated are for US shipping.
