My oldest daughter, Lydia has been playing violin for about fifteen years. She loves improvisation, letting the music go where it wills. I love watching the dreamy expression on her face when she’s playing. Absolute bliss!I’ve always loved this picture of her. I love the movement and how the light illuminates her hair. I wanted to make a quilt that would allow the viewer to feel the passion of my daughter’s playing and be drawn in, as if they were invited to a private concert
This quilt is entirely fused applique using a modified version the beginner’s technique described in my "Making Faces" technique.
