We moved from California to Ohio in 1991. It was so much fun to watch the girls discover all kinds of new things. Fireflies, for instance. There were no fireflies in San Diego, so it was lots of fun to run around and catch them here in Ohio. Rain was another thing that was new to them. San Diego had experience seven years of drought before we left, so the girls had never seen a real rainfall. Every time it rained in Ohio, they wanted to go out and play in it! We also spent loads of time sitting on the front porch watching the storms roll in and enjoying the thunder and lightening. Of course, snow was another new experience which brought hours of enjoyment so that seemed like an appropriate event to memorialize in their ornaments that year.
