Yes, there is some of the righteous that perish in their righteousness, they die young, they’re taken home to be with the Lord and, in fact, we can actually come to a place of saying, thank you, Lord, that now You’ve taken that person to be with You for eternity. The trial on this earth is over for him. Now he’s in glory, and that’s what we want to see for each person, to see them in glory. So when it happens that a righteous man who is truly righteous walking in relationship with God is taken home, we can rejoice over that, though we mourn because we’re going to miss the fellowship, because we miss the friendship and the closeness we had. The fact is, they’re better off because for them, to be with the Lord is better. Though, while they were alive their righteousness was a display to us that we, too, can be righteous. You know, if one person lives in relationship with the Lord because of the power of the Holy Spirit, that’s proof that any of us can, because also we’re told in Romans, ‘For all have sinned…and fallen short of the glory of God.’ None of us are able to be righteous on our own. If we see even one person who is living a life of righteousness, we know that that life of righteousness can only come through God Himself, through the power of the Holy Spirit that’s indwelled that person. So if we see that person being righteous then we know we can, too. We no longer have excuse. We no longer have a reason to say, but I can’t be good.

I see a lot of things in life that I just simply do not understand, but you know what? I’m going to choose to walk with the Lord. I’m going to choose to give my life into His hands and then when He does something to me that I don’t understand, I’m going to say, okay Lord, that’s fine… Even if I don’t understand it, I can live in joy and You will work it together for good.

“It’s not that we can’t see God at all now. It’s not that we can’t experience His love and His joy and His presence now. It’s that it’s very dim to us now because we’re still in the flesh and the sin that is in our flesh oftentimes keeps us separated from Him. So His Holy Spirit, once we’ve received Him in our lives, His Holy Spirit brings us to this place of seeing glimpses…We can look at what happens under the sun and call it luck, or we can look at what happens under the sun and say what’s happened is bringing me into a closer relationship with God…If you’re not allowing the Holy Spirit to lead you or work within you, then you’re living a life of foolishness because the Holy Spirit is the only One Who can really give true wisdom from God.”

But you know, life is fun and life is exciting and life is exciting because I know that every day that I live, I live it for the Lord Who is going to take me one day beyond this life and allow me to see even greater adventures, greater glory with Him for all eternity, and that’s worth looking forward to. And that’s worth being excited about now. And that’s worth making every day that we live on this planet a great adventure…

One day I’m going to die… One day it’s going to be over. But you know what? I realize now that death does not have to be the end but, in fact, for those who believe in Jesus Christ, who walk in Him and allow the power of the Spirit to work in their life, it’s just the beginning. That every day that you live in the Lord, it can be a great adventure…an adventure that one day will take you beyond what you see in this world. It will take you to stand in the very presence of God and to see His face and to experience all that He created…I’m going to choose to walk with the Lord, I’m going to choose to give my life into His Hands, and then when He does something with me that I don’t understand, I’m going to say, okay Lord, that’s fine.
