Luke (1995-96)

Do you hear from God regularly? Do you feel the move of the Holy Spirit in your life? Or, as you live your life daily, does it feel pretty dry? ...God will speak to each of us differently, but He does speak to us in one way or another if we're walking with Him, if we're trusting in Him, if we're listening to Him, we will begin to hear Him speak to us.

Vintage message from April 9, 1995.

Do you hear from God regularly? Do you feel the move of the Holy Spirit in your life? Or as you live your life daily, does it feel pretty dry? Do you get the excitement and the joy that comes, that is promised to us by the Holy Spirit? As you read the Word do you get insights from the Lord that tells you that God is speaking to you? God will speak to each of us differently, but He does speak to us in one way or another if we’re walking with Him, if we’re trusting in Him, if we’re listening to Him, we will begin to hear Him speak to us.

When you decide it's time to pray for something, search your heart... And once God says, 'Yes' or 'No,' already determine in your heart that you're going to believe what God has to tell you.

Vintage message from April 23, 1995.

Just because something seems out of the ordinary does not mean that it’s your own active imagination. God may be speaking to you. Respond to it. Allow the Holy Spirit to work in you.

We have within us the power of the Holy Spirit to proclaim the name of Jesus Christ to those around us.

Vintage message from April 30, 1995.

We are the vessel that God uses to bring salvation to others. We have within us the power of the Holy Spirit to proclaim the name of Jesus Christ to those around us. We have the ability to share our faith and our knowledge of our Savior with other people… Mary brought our Savior in a physical form. We bring our Savior in the Spirit to those who need to hear, to those who are perishing, to those who have not heard the name of Jesus Christ. We’re those vessels.

Are we raising our kids to stand firm in the knowledge and the testimony of God and what God is doing in their lives? Or, are we raising our kids to grow up to fit the mold of society? Think about that. What is the pattern of life that we're going to try to set before our kids?

Vintage message from May 7, 1995.

We need to decide up front how we’re going to raise our kids, and I pray that how we’re going to raise those kids is the way God has already chosen for them to be raised. That we simply bow in agreement to what God has already said He wants their life to be.

For my eyes have seen Your salvation.

Lord, help me to redeem every moment that You have allotted to me... Lord, help me to use this day wisely.

Vintage message from June 11, 1995.

So now we have to find ourselves saying, Lord, help me to redeem every moment that You have allotted to me. Let me redeem every moment that You have given me on the face of the earth to do Your will. Lord, let me look so forward to Your coming — Your imminent return to this earth, Your taking me up to be with You — let me look so forward to that, that every day when I get up, I breathe a sigh of relief that You have given me still a few more moments to do Your work…but then I have to say, Lord, help me to use this day wisely.

Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.
How many times do we leave Jesus the option to use us as He wants? How many times when we pray, do we seek God's will...even if it means we may have to continue to suffer? Are we...willing to say, 'Lord, if You are willing'?

Vintage message from July 9, 1995.

How many times do we leave Jesus the option to use us as He wants? How many times when we pray do we seek God’s will in our prayers? Actually, honestly, wanting to know God’s will and direction for us, even if it means we may have to continue to suffer? …Are we at that place where we are willing to say, ‘Lord, if You are willing’?

He wants for us to come to that place of recognizing our sin... But it takes humbling ourselves. It takes recognizing...the condition we are in and allowing Him to take control, let Him forgive us, and then He works through us.

Vintage message from August 27, 1995.

He wants for us to come to that place of recognizing our sin, recognizing our need for Him, recognizing that we can be used by Him. But, it takes humbling ourselves. It takes recognizing who we are and the condition we are in and allowing Him to take control, let Him forgive us, and then He works through us.

When the test starts, I don't care how easy it seams; when the test starts, when the trials come, the first thing you do, the first place to start is to say, "Jesus, I can't make it through any test without You!"

Vintage message from September 3, 1995.

Hey, when the test starts, I don’t care how easy it seems, when the test starts, when the trial comes, the first thing you do, the first place to start is to say, “Jesus, I can’t do this. I can’t make it through any test without You. You’re the Word. I need You in my life. I need Your guidance to bring me through every step of the way.” And when we do that, Jesus helps us through. We don’t fall away.

We need to persevere to produce a crop. And what is the crop that's produced? If it's God's word that is planted, if the seed that is buried deep in our life is God's word, and it begins to grow, then what's going to be produced is God's word. We, then, are going to turn and share with others what we know of God's word.

Vintage message from September 10, 1995. (Poor recording, incomplete message)

We need to persevere to produce a crop. And what is the crop tha’s produced? If it’s God’s word that is planted, if the seed that is buried deep in our life is God’s word, and it begins to grow, then what’s going to be produced is God’s word. We, then, are going to turn and share with others what we know of God’s word.

Sometimes God has facts that we don't. He has understanding that we don't. We just need to follow Him. Wait and see, and let Him deal with the situation.

Vintage message from September 17, 1995.

Oftentimes, we bring ourselves to a point of despair and we don’t have all the facts because we’ve not consulted God yet. Sometimes God has facts that we don’t. He has understanding that we don’t. We just need to follow Him; wait and see, and let Him deal with the situation.

Ministry is simple. His gospel is simple. And our response to Him needs to be simple... As we live our life in just plain, simple love for other people, we'll see miracles happen.

Gid rid of the "me" and only have the "Him."

Vintage message from October 1, 1995.

The hardest thing in life to do is to give up me. To not meet my needs first… But according to this statement in Luke… I must deny myself, get rid of the “me” and only have the “Him“… My witness and statement of life is to be one that completely and totally mimics that of Christ.

The kingdom of heaven is simply and only this one thing: relationship with Jesus Christ.

Vintage message from October 8, 1995.

The kingdom of God is simply and only this one thing: relationship with Jesus Christ.

We must become the servants of all... We must put ourselves in the place of serving and caring and not being in the forefront... What makes us great is humbling ourselves before God...and allowing Him to simply use us.

Vintage message from October 22, 1995.

It’s not in the great things that you do. It’s not in the things that you do in the forefront. It’s not in the great power that I have and the ability I have to do anything that will make me great in God’s kingdom. But somehow I have to learn to become weak. He said in other scriptures that we must become the servants of all; that we must put ourselves in the place of serving and caring and not being in the forefront…What makes us great is humbling ourselves before God; giving ourselves into relationship with Him and allowing Him to simply use us. That’s what makes us great.

Where we're to find ourselves rejoicing is in the fact that Jesus has written our names in heaven.

Vintage message from November 5, 1995.

I’m not to rejoice over the fact that God has used me, that God has displayed His power through me, that God will continue to display His power through me and through each one of you. That’s not what is to bring us to a place of rejoicing. Where we’re to find ourselves rejoicing is the fact that Jesus has written our names in heaven. That one day the Father will hear Jesus say, ‘I know this one, and I love this one.’ He’ll look at us and say, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’ That’s where we’re to find our rejoicing. You know, when you come to the place of knowing Jesus loves you, and Jesus cares for you, and that Jesus is directing your life, and the reason He’s doing it is because He wants to have love relationship with you, not just now, but for all eternity, it becomes a very simple thing to go out and share.

Part of obeying the Word is admitting that. you have sin, admitting that you have problems in your life, admitting that you need God to clean up your mess. It's part of obeying the Word. It's not that we're going to be perfect. God wants to bless us by engaging us in His Word...

Vintage message from November 26, 1995.

We can hear God’s Word all day long. We can sit down and read the Word all day long. But…once we’ve heard it, once we know what we’re supposed to do because of it, then we have to do it. And then we’re blessed!…When you hear God’s Word, obey it. Then you’ll receive a blessing.

If we want a blessing, when we hear God's Word, we must obey it. And most of obeying God's Word is simply taking what we hear and applying it to our lives. Living by it.

Vintage message from December 3, 1995.

If we want a blessing, if we hear God’s Word, we must obey it. And most of obeying God’s Word is simply taking what we hear and applying it to our lives; living by it.

When you follow Jesus, when you are Jesus' disciple, it is a life of complete and total selflessness.

Vintage message from February 11, 1996.

It costs to be a disciple of Christ. Salvation costs nothing. Don’t mistake this with salvation. It costs nothing for you to say, ‘Jesus, come into my life.’ But when you hear Jesus telling you that He wants you to follow Him, when you decide that you want to truly give your life over and follow Jesus, and be His disciple, understand, it comes with a cost. You have to give up everything…When you follow Jesus, when you are Jesus’s disciple, it is a life of complete and total selflessness.

When we become salt to someone, we become a preservative for them. We become a healing agent for them. We become flavor for them. But we can only do that if we are Jesus' disciples. If we're walking in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Vintage message from February 18, 1996.

When we become salt to someone, we become a preservative for them. We become a healing agent for them. We become flavor for them. But we can only do that if we are Jesus’ disciples. If we’re walking in the power of the Holy Spirit. If we’re allowing Jesus to work in and through us, we become salt to a nation who’s hurting and desperate and dying; who’s infected and in need of healing and preservation. But if we lose our saltiness, we are useless.

Don't ever allow your heart to become bitter because of someone else's sin.

Vintage message from February 25, 1996.

We have a lot of work to do. There’s a great harvest out there. There’s a lot of lost and dying people that we, like this father, need to go to. We need to meet them on the road. We need to wrap our arms around them. We need to kiss them and greet them and show them that we could care less about their uncleanness and invite them back home and celebrate with them once they give their life over to the Lord…Don’t ever allow your heart to become bitter because of someone else’s sin. Always, always find yourself in the place of rejoicing because of what the Father is doing…That’s what it’s all about: living our life so people can know that they can be forgiven, and allowing them to come to that place of repentance.

Everything that comes into our possession was give to us by God... we've only been entrusted with it.

Vintage message from March 3, 1996.

We’ve been given worldly possessions, we’ve been given worldly wealth, we’ve been given things around us that God expects for us to use for Him, not for ourselves…All the possessions we have are really owned by Another. Nothing that comes into our possession, nothing that we earn, nothing that we pay for…is truly ours. Everything that comes into our possession was given to us by God…It’s so easy for me to look at the house and the car and the clothes I wear on my back and say, ‘These are mine. I own these. I paid for them with my money. I’ve worked hard. I deserve them!’ How many times do we find ourselves saying this? ‘I deserve this! It’s my right to have this!’ But in fact, we’ve only been entrusted with it. No matter how hard we work, no matter how much money we pay for something, it is still only entrusted to us by the One Who owns this world.

Do you want your faith increased? Sit down and ask, "Lord, what should I be doing for You? How should I be serving You? How should I be responding to You?

Vintage message from March 24, 1996.

It’s not in the command that builds the great faith or shows the display of faith, but it’s in understanding who we are in the eyes of our Master. And, in fact, we are unworthy. And, in fact, we are His servants. And, in fact, when we respond to what He’s asked us to do, done only our duty, He counts that as faith. Do you want your faith increased? Sit down and ask, ‘Lord, what should I be doing for you? How should I be serving You? How should I be responding to You?’

We should be longing for the relationship we can have with Jesus. We should be longing and hungering in our hearts for that relationship, that place of serenity, that place of peace that comes when we are walking with Jesus Christ, regardless of what's going on around us.

Vintage message from March 31, 1996.
