After a lot of thought, I decided to show how to quilt a portrait. I did two workshops for my quilt guild earlier this year and many people have been afraid to quilt theirs. I thought it would be good to show how easy it can be. For the demo night, the guild was divided up into four groups and then they took turns rotating around the room to see each of the demos. The hardest part was that I only had ten minutes. In that time, I was able to quilt the face and some of the hair while I was also talking about how to choose thread, batting, sewing machine feet, and any other questions that came up. It was fun, even if it was a bit of a whirlwind. I only hope I answered conherently and people got something out of it!
Demo night at my quilt guild
Tonight was demo night at my quilt guild, the Miami Valley Quilters’ Guild. Somehow, I agreed to do one of the demos.
