I’ve mentioned before about how our daughter and her husband are expecting their first child, but the baby has a condition that will not allow for him to survive outside the womb. I know some people don’t understand, but our daughter and son-in-law (and all of us as a family) have chosen to fully embrace this child and be the best parents they can be for as long as God allows. As part of that choice, they have been purposefully doing special things with their baby that families do with their kids. For instance, in the past few weeks they went to the zoo, they went kayaking, and they had a McDonald’s Happy Meal with the baby. This Sunday at church we celebrated Amalya Nathaniel by having a “Life Day” party, complete with balloons and streamers and this special cake which my daughter and her friend decorated. It says, “Rub-a-Dub-Dub, Happy 24 Weeks in the Tub.” I thought they were so creative! They used mini-marshmallows for bubbles and blue jello for the water, and I let them use my blue rubber ducky.
It was really a wonderful day, and later my daughter said it was her happiest pregnancy day so far ๐

Just brings tears to my eyes to see how wonderfully your family has embraced this gift of God who will have such a small amount of earthly time, but will have touched the lives of so many in such a wonderful and loving way. God has to be smiling huge whenever he looks upon them and you.
Maria, I had an employee whos child was born a couple of weeks ago with the very same thing. Their son did not live past birth but they embraced the time they had during the pregnancy also. What a hard thing for all of you but what a blessing as well, for the child and your family. God bless and l will be praying for you all through this journey.
…what a blessing it has been from day one when we found Calvary Chapel, Dayton. We are especially blessed to see this wonderful story unfold….
I’ve never seen Bethany smile the way she did… ๐
