Two years later

Today marks two years since my sweet hubby, Dave, left us and went to heaven. I miss his laugh. I miss his hugs. I miss the companionship of my best friend. And still, God has blessed me in so many ways. I’m thankful for my two lovely daughters and their husbands. I’m thankful that I can live with two granddaughters. They are a bright spot every day! I haven’t gone … Continue reading

A Momma’s Heart – cover reveal

So excited! Here is the front cover of my daughter’s up-coming book, A Momma’s Heart: Comfort for Loss Moms. This is the project that’s been keeping me busy since January. Memorial Day 2017

Today is the day that the United States honors those who died in active military service. My father was in the Air Force for 31 years, so we were taught to appreciate the sacrifice that these brave men and women made for our country. I do not want to minimize the true meaning of Memorial Day, but today I’ve been thinking of my sweet hubby, Dave. He wasn’t in the … Continue reading

One year later

We have all missed him dreadfully, but our family has rallied together and drawn closer in the grief. I’m so thankful that the intense sadness has been balanced out by the pure joy of watching … Continue reading

Four years… In Memory of…

Today our family remembers two very special people. My grandson, sweet little Amalya Nathaniel, was born and passed away on September 10, 2012. God used him in such amazing ways. We were blessed that he lived for one hour and twenty minutes, but he’ll be in our hearts forever. My quilt, Surrender, was made as a memorial to Amalya’s brief but very meaningful life. Just a week before Amalya was … Continue reading

She was 6 lbs 1 oz and measured 19-1/4″ long. Aliza is Hebrew for “Joyful.” Hope was added from the verse Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” The Romans 12 was a passage selected as a … Continue reading

Review of 2015

For the last few years, I’ve posted brief summaries of the year as it ended. I haven’t been posting much lately, and with the loss of my sweet hubby, I was hesitant to do a review this year, but I thought I would try a mini review. But, forever in my mind, 2015 will always be remembered as the year I said goodbye to my best friend. … Continue reading
