Happy birthday to me!

Isn’t she just adorable? Happy birthday to me!

Today is my birthday, and I’m thankful for every year I’ve been given. So, I haven’t been doing much quilting the last month, but I’ve been busy with many very valuable events.

To begin with, I got to cuddle the little bundle of joy shown above almost every day. She’s almost five months old now and she always wakes up with a great big smile!

I got to walk along side my sweet hubby as we tried to encourage and uplift the wonderful people in our church. I spent a lot of time behinds the scenes trying to lay the groundwork so they will be blessed. I’ve been upgrading the church website and exploring the possibility of getting an app. I’ve also been pricing rubber mulch for the playground. Sounds exciting, right? It will be when we get to watch all the kids play safely! I can’t wait.

I got to be friends with my two daughters as they navigate adulthood and early marriage. I’m so thankful that they live close and they feel free to drop in any time. I treasure the times we sit and talk and discuss life and events going on in their lives. That is such a gift to me because I know it doesn’t happen to everyone.

I got to encourage DD#1 as she edits sweet hubby’s second fiction novel.

I got to help DD#2 design two Anencephaly Awareness magnets and one Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness magnet. Both were ordered and should be available during October’s Pregnancy and Infant Loss Month, and more particularly for October 15th’s National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Since she’s been getting more opportunities to advocate for neonatal organ donation, we’ve also been getting ready for her to officially apply for non-profit status for Purposeful Gift.

And, earlier in the month I thanked God for my daddy, who passed away two years ago. Six days later we all remembered little Amalya who, in 2012, lived an hour and twenty minutes, and touched our lives so profoundly.

I have so much to be thankful. There will be plenty of time in the coming months for quilting, but somethings don’t just don’t last. So, I’m going to enjoy my birthday to the fullest and cuddle my little granddaughter a little extra today.
