Today we got up early and started our drive to Georgia where I am scheduled to teach two workshops and speak at the East Cobb Quilters’ Guild. They are located near Atlanta, Georgia.
My sweet hubby and I had such a relaxing drive down. Because we left so early, there was no heavy traffic through the bigger cities. We enjoyed the sunrise over the tree-covered hillsides and had a leisurely breakfast. We arrived at the hotel early, ate lunch, and had a nice nap.
The quilt guild blessed me with a welcome bag including the complete detailed itinery of my time with them along with contact names and phone numbers, their most current newsletter advertising my upcoming visit, water and snacks, a notepad with a beautiful handmade cover, their guild’s pin, and best of all, a CD of their 2011 quilt show.
As soon as I could, I popped the CD into my hubby’s computer. Wow! What amazing quilts! I remember seeing some of them at the NQA show this summer. Believe me when I say, I’m feeling somewhat intimidated! A good dose of humility is always a good thing.
For dinner, we met with three of guild members and their husbands at a little Italian restaurant. Mmmm! I had chicken parmesan, and it was delicious.
We had such fun talking about a wide array of topics, but eventually we had to get back to the hotel. Gotta be ready for the first workshop bright and early Thursday morning!
