I’m excited to announce that I get to make a very special baby quilt!!! DD#2 and her hubby just found out they are expecting their first child, which (more importantly) is our first grandchild! Good job, you two! ๐
I’ve been not-so-secretly hoarding fun children’s fabrics for many years now. Since DD#2 loves children’s books, as soon as I saw Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar fabric, I handed over my plastic as quick as I could, and I have a nice little stack ready and waiting. Then they very cleverly came out with The Very Hungry Caterpillar Encore edition, so I naturally bought more. Then they came out with The Grouchy Ladybug fabric which was so cute I bought some of that too. So, these special parents get a choice of these or some others that I’ve been hoarding. Hopefully, no new really fun kids fabrics will come out in the next nine months because I’m sure I’ll totally be a sucker for those too.
I also have two winners for the February/March 2012 issue of Quilting Arts magazines!
The winners are Cathy Byrd and Sharon Driver! Congratulations!

CONGRATULATIONS Grandma! Our first (and probably only) grandchild was born 2 years ago. What a joy she is. I know you will have great fun making your grandbaby all sorts of wonderful things.
Congrats. I do not yet have a grandchild, but look forward to someday when I will.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! How exciting is that!!! That will be one very special quilt and I bet you – you won’t be able to stop just at one… ๐
I love, love, LOVE making baby quilts!! I make one for every friend’s, or friend of a friend, or co-worker’s baby I know of being born! But there is a hidden reason there too – collecting all that cute baby fabric, so that I will be ready when my special quilt to be made comes!! ๐ For one, only one grand-puppy but maybe in a year or two… ๐
Enjoy every minute and all the best!
Awww… Mom! I’m so excited. We’ll have to get together soon and talk about the quilt! Soooooo fun! ๐
