Today’s been a good day. I was able to get quite a bit done before lunch, take a break, and then continue in the afternoon. I know I’m making progress, but it’s a little scary to see all this stuff pile up and know that I still have a ways to go! Oh, my! How did all this stuff get in my studio? And this is after I did a major purge in January 2015 where I got rid of all the art supplies that were not quilt related! I’m afraid to actually count how many boxes of fabric alone that I’ve packed up, not to mention batting and just about every type of quilt tool you can want. And I haven’t gotten to my thread yet. I am truly blessed, and so well-stocked that I won’t need to go shopping for quite a while.
So today I started clearing off the big bookshelf.
I picked at packing up the things on this bookshelf throughout the day. When I wasn’t packing the bookcase, I packed up all the heavy things and breakables in the cupboard shown on the left. I’m going to leave the lightweight stuff in their drawers and just secure the doors closed so everything will stay inside. I also packed up two filing drawers that contained all the info about the quilts I’ve made, and lots of miscellaneous supplies on my work table found their way into boxes. Plus I pulled out the bolts of black and white Kona cotton and Pimatex from under my work table.Next I have to tackle the stuff on top of the bookcases and cupboards (see picture below). That should prove interesting! One of those boxes is packed with artwork that my daughters did when they were in elementary school. I can’t wait to see what’s in there. I have already come across four sketchbooks from when I was in high school. I blogged about those once before. Who knows what else I might find?
