Today was my third watercolor class with Nita Leland. I was told to work on anything I wanted, so I pulled out a photo of my friend. She’s the same friend who modeled for the quilt I’m currently working on. I decided to specifically work on skin coloring, and I think the watercolor is much more representative of her true skin and hair color than the quilt is. This painting was done in about 1-1/2 hours.
Like many watercolorists, I think I need to learn how to not fiddle once an area is painted 🙂

You paint beautifully.
Thanks! I’m happy with it (even if I can see mistakes now that I’m home)
It is gorgeous! I wish I knew how to paint, even a little would be just lovely.
I love your work and your blog – thanks so much for sharing yourself with the world!
