The quilting has begun. I started on the easiest thing first: the green sweater. I decided to use three values of green to quilt it. I’m quilting it very close together because I want it to contrast with the areas of trapunto. I haven’t done that before, so we’ll see how that works out!
After the sweater and shirt were quilted, I started in on the skin tones. I began with the arm and hand. Just a bunch of “simple” cylinder shapes, right? Again, I used three values of beige to enhance the three dimensionality.
Now, on to the face. For me, that’s always the hardest part.

Maria, I’ve been watching your progress on this, usually with my mouth dropped open in awe! It’s going to be spectacular!
Thanks, Jodi ๐
Oh, wow!!! That’s amazing. I love your use of the three different greens. And the skin does look 3D. Can’t wait to see it in person. Do you give sneak peaks?
Susan, come by the house and I’ll give you a sneak peak ๐
