Room of Requirement Day 6

I’m tired, and I’m claiming victory! I think I have pretty much everything packed into boxes and ready to be stored away. This process took somewhat longer than I expected! I definitely forgot that I had some of that stuff. I’m thankful for my son-in-law, Eric, who has been storing this all away in his mom’s basement (thanks, Jill!). The library card catalog drawers are over there now, along with all those other boxes, the ironing boards, the rolls of various stuff, etc., etc. It’s quite a job loading it all up and then unloading and carrying it downstairs, but he’s done it without complaint. A little good-natured teasing, of course, but all things considered, I deserve it, I suppose.

Anyway, I gathered the odds and ends and put them in a few boxes. I’m not sure why I had such a mental block on gathering up those loose ends, but I finally got it done. I had two plastic drawer cabinets that I left full and just wrapped them with plastic wrap. I did the same with my thread cabinet. Hopefully they will travel okay that way. I also pulled up the flooring and set it aside until I can get a couple of heavy duty boxes to hold all those tiles.

I’m happy to have gotten this far. The other part of the room needs to be tackled, but it’s not my stuff, so that makes it easier! Then we can get started on the renovation! Hooray! I don’t really have a good idea of how long this renovation will take. Of course, most of it is stuff I can’t do, but I’ll help where I can. Simple stuff like drywall mud and painting, I suspect. Anyway, it should be an adventure!
