I squeezed in a couple hours of quilting last night, and then started again bright and early this morning. I’ve started quilting her hair. I wanted to make a connection between her hair and the gusts of wind, so I’ve been quilting feathers and strings of pearls in some of the strands. I’ve finished all of the hair on the right side. My goal for today is to finish the rest of her hair. An ambitious goal!
I think I’ve got a title for the quilt, too. Unless I come up with a better title, I’m considering with “Windblown.” What do you think?

This is so stunning – I want to buy a ticket to fly to wherever you are to see it in person!!! ๐
I’m hoping to get it done in time for the Houston deadline ๐
Windblown – of course! : )
It’s fascinating to watch the development and your thought processes on this project. Yay for blogs!
Keeps me focused! It’s good to set mini-deadlines and then have some accountability.
Love It! wasn’t sure when you told me you were gonna put feathers in the hair – but I think it looks really really nice. ๐ Can’t wait to see it. You are amazing…
Windblown sounds perfect.
Do you quilt on your home machine or a long arm?
Lisa: No long arm here — way too far outside my budget. Same goes for Berninas. I have a Janome 6500.
