Preparation Day
Today is preparation day. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the US, and I’m thrilled that sweet hubby and I will be surrounded by our beloved family: my mom, DD#1 and her hubby, and expectant DD#2 and her hubby. Being surrounded by family is one of my favorite things. While I look forward to serving them special…

Accepting imperfection
I tend to be a perfectionist. I try NOT to be, but there is a part of me that naturally, unconsciously seeks it out. The hard part about being a perfectionist artist is to be willing to accept imperfections. Realistically, perfection is something that I can rarely achieve. And I actually find that I am…

Wondering if I’ll remember
I know it sounds silly, but every time I start a new project, I wonder if I’ll remember how to do it. Not the sewing or quilting part, but the painting part. I always wonder if I’ll be able to paint smooth enough without making major mistakes that would force me to start over. Since…

Inside the email was one simple line: “Karey Bresenhan purchased it.” Karey is the founder of the International Quilt Association. Windblown is currently on tour with a special exhibit for the book, “Art Quilt Portfolio: People…

Windblown is a Zoom Quilt
Cathy Geier of Patchworks that Praise tipped me off. Apparently Windblown is a Zoom Quilt on The Quilt Show. While I had never even heard of Zoom Quilts, it is pretty cool. When you got to their website (http://www.thequiltshow.com/os/zoom.php), you can move your cursor over the image and see a detailed close-up of the stitching.…

2013 Quilt Odyssey
Windblown has been traveling a bit this summer. This past weekend it was at Quilt Odyssey in Hershey, Pennsylvania. It came home on Wednesday with a little something extra tucked into its box. Inside was an honorable mention ribbon and some very nice comments from the judges.

2013 National Quilting Association Show
I got the exciting news today that Windblown won a ribbon at the 2013 National Quilting Association Show. She won a second place in the pictorial category! The show runs from June 27 through 29.
