Review of 2013
It’s nice to look back and reflect a bit, so here’s my short review of 2013. Thankfully it was a bit less eventful than 2012. There were several things I split my attention between. I spent quite a bit of time speaking and teaching at numerous quilt guilds across the country. Sweet hubby and I…

I’ve mentioned before that my two quilts, Windblown and Surrender, are part of a special SAQA exhibit which includes twenty of the featured artists in the Art Quilt Portfolio: People and Portraits book. The first place these quilts were shown was at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas. Special exhibits of this kind normally…

“Windblown” just sold! That was the subject line of the email I received yesterday. My heart skipped a beat. Inside the email was one simple line: “Karey Bresenhan purchased it.” Karey is the founder of the International Quilt Association. Windblown is currently on tour with a special exhibit for the book, “Art Quilt Portfolio: People…

Giveaway: Quilting Arts June/July 2013 issue
I just opened the June/July 2013 issue of Quilting Arts today and eagerly read Martha Sielman’s article, “Creating Realistic Portraits.” Obviously, a topic near and dear to my heart. In the article, she explored three specific areas, “capturing someone’s personality through their eyes, creating hands that do not look awkward or out of scale, and…
